Where It’s Located!

The Diamond City Community Center has been in existent since the early 70's.  It is located within City Hall at 232 Grand Avenue in Diamond City.  The Center has had a lot of updates and refurbishments made in the past three years to make it more desirable and attractive to hold events and welcome guests to our city.

Services and Amenities!

The Community Center has a full kitchen, The Lunchbox, where meals are prepared for our Tuesday and Thursday meals as well as being available for use if you rent the center.  Our open area has a seating capacity of 200 persons.  There is a park that is dedicated to Henry W. Dietz III, the founder of Diamond City, located behind the center building where there is a playground area with slides, swings, basketball goals, and other small challenges for children. The park has a covered patio area with picnic tables and grills for cookouts.

The Community Center kitchen is a full service food preparation area subject to State health codes and inspections.  To ensure the public is aware of the kitchen's compliance we will publish the state health inspection reports after each inspection of our food service preparation area.  Click on the link below to view the most current inspection report.  If there are any questions please call us at 870.422.7212.

The Center Activities!

The Center includes services such as hosting the monthly and special Council Meetings, renting out the center for receptions, parties, and business meetings, hosting a community meal on Tuesdays and Thursdays, providing free meals for Veterans (Vets eat free), and many more events during the summer months.  One of the seasonal highlights is the Farmers Market during the summer which includes arts, crafts, bread and pastries, and vegetables which are homegrown in our local area.

The community has just begun to hold a community potluck supper once a month to bring together as many residents to meet and greet each other and discuss issues that are important to the community.  Organizers are hoping that this will grow over the summer months into an important exchange of ideas for the community that will help Diamond City move forward into the future.

On every Monday evening of the week, the Center hosts the Pickin’ n Grinnin’ musicians.  It is a group of local musicians who get together every Monday, have a potluck supper, and play music.  It is a great time for socializing and to hear some very good ole’ time country and gospel music.  We have some very good musicians in our area as well as some wonderful singers.  Bring your guitar and come join in!

Center Rental and Health Aids!

Also, during the summer months, there are a lot of family reunions and get-togethers. The Community Center will also rent out tables and chairs for your home events!

The Community Center’s main goal is to help the community in any way we can.  If you have a family member who is temporarily incapacitated for health reasons, the Center has available wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, poddy chairs, shower chairs, etc. to help with care for your family member.  Please give Randy a call to arrange the use of any of these items. The Center provides these items free of charge.  Also, if you have any of these items taking up room in your storage building or home, the Center can always use these items as a donation to help other members of the community! Directions for submitting the form are on the form.

The Center’s Library!

The Center has a library that is packed with books donated by the community.  Tim Miner is the volunteer who keeps up the library and make sure it is stocked with books for adults and for children.  The library works on a trust system. There are no fees and you can check out a book without cost. Please just bring them back so that others may also enjoy them too!  Tim is planiing on some reading activities for the children this summer. He can be contacted at 870.577.4827.
